From Ettrick Bridge
Take the road towards Eskdale Muir, the B7009 until you come to a T junction, turn to the right until you come to a cattle grid, then after the grid turn to the right at the plaque with the legend ‘Old Kirkhope’, then follow the private road past the farm house to the Tower.
From the Yarrow Valley
Take the A708 from Selkirk towards Moffat and St Mary’s Loch. Ignore the signs for Bowhill House and the Ettrick Valley, and continue through Yarroford. Turn left at the sign ‘Ettrickbridge 4’ and continue over the bridge onto the single track with passing places. Continue over the hill towards Ettrickbridge until you come to a cattle grid and a stone sign saying ‘Old Kirkhope’. Just before the grid turn very sharp left onto the private road leading to the Tower.
